ABOUT
DUPLEX | Satellite Residency is an outspread of DUPLEX | Artists in Residency, which allows artists based in Lisbon to participate in the residency program, without having to use a studio inside DUPLEX, but enjoying the same activities and monitoring as artists in residency.
The program foresees 6 to 7 joint moments per month, which include discussion of portfolios, visit to another artist's studio, galleries' tour, visit to the studio of the artists doing the satellite residency, peer discussions and crits,
It is therefore a mandatory condition that the artist who applies for DUPLEX | Satellite Residency to have a studio in Lisbon, or in a location close to the city and easily accessible by public transport.
Even though the program is designed for artists, applications from curators, cultural programmers, or other professionals in the cultural universe may be accepted.
LOCATION
Lisbon city center - between Bairro da Graça and Penha de França.
Transports and stores at our door steep. Easy access to several galleries and cultural spaces.

RESULTS | UP TO 2 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION

SATELLITE RESIDENCY PERIODS 2026
The satellite resident must select the full month(s) (4 weeks) in which he/she wishes to attend the residence, considering the following dates:

OCTOBER | 06th to 31st
NOVEMBER | 02nd to 27th
WHAT'S INCLUDED | ARTISTS
Program with portfolio presentations, conversations, guest visits to the residents' studios, and organized visits to artist studios and other cultural spaces
Project discussion and follow up
Visit to the studio of the satellite residents
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED
Open Studios event and/or exhibition
Crits in the studio itself - the final discussion moment is always held at DUPLEX, with the satellite resident expected to present all or part of their work on site
WHAT'S EXPECTED OF THE SATELLITE RESIDENT
Involvement in all DUPLEX activities
Constructive and engaged attitude in the sharing and discussions that are part of the residency
Punctuality and time availability
COST
> 300€ per month
> + 100€per month - Duo rate (Duos of artists with a history of working in partnership)
PAYMENTS
> 1º MONTH: 300€ (400€ duo) - Within a week after acceptance. This value will not be returned in case of cancellation by artist
> 2º MONTH: 300 € (400 € duo)- Until the end of the 1st month
> 3º MONTH: 300 € (400€ duo)- Until the end of the 2nd month
> 4º MONTH: 300 € (400€ duo)- Until the end of the 3rd month

CONDITIONS
Applications will only be accepted from artists who have a studio in Lisbon or within a short distance of the city, as long as it is accessible by public transport.
The working language is English.
